Hi guys, earlier tonight I had a problem with my computer and while trying to solve it I came across a command that you can write into the run box and it will compare yours Windows files on the disc to the ones on your computer.

Anyway if it finds something different it will fix it for you. I am not sure if it fixes corrupt files, but if the file is missing it will fix that.
So if you go to the run box and type in sfc /scannow This command will start the search. You will be prompted to put your Operating system disc in and away it goes.

I have tried this on Windows Xp. Although it didn't fix my problem it could fix a million others in the future.
